Great routesetting begins with great holds. Ty Foose has spent over 35 years shaping more than landmark holds, he's been shaping the industry and the experiences of every indoor climber. He helped develop the polyurethane formula the entire industry now builds on, was an early inventor of dual-tex, and crafted the first commercial volumes. He carved shapes that have appeared from world cup competition walls to boutique climbing gyms across the world. He invented the first non-organic texture in climbing. The work accumulates into something rare: a body of craft that changed the standards of an entire industry, built entirely by hand, without shortcuts. Every hold he makes is a small piece of functional art — subtle in concept, exacting in execution, designed to disappear into the movement it creates.
